Powerful

General Anesthesia Available

For severe cases, we offer general anesthesia with close monitoring of your vital signs throughout.

Oral Conscious Sedation

A moderate form of sedation, oral conscious sedation dentistry comes in a pill-form and is taken orally about one hour before treatment. Once the effects kick in, you can expect to feel significantly more relaxed and at ease, making treatment much easier to complete.

In many cases, patients do not remember much of their treatment, making it ideal for those with moderate to severe levels of anxiety. Since the effects can linger, we require patients to have a friend or family member drive them to and from the dental office.

Significantly reduces anxiety
Patients often have no memory of treatment
Transportation required due to lingering effects

Nitrous oxide sedation

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

For those with more mild cases of anxiety, nitrous oxide offers patients a fast-acting sedative effect during dental treatments. The gaseous mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is supplied via a nasal mask that is worn throughout your appointment, allowing you to gently inhale the mixture and remain calm.

You may experience a slight warming sensation as you inhale the mixture. However, once the mask is removed, the effects of the sedative go away as quickly as they appeared, making it easy to resume normal activities.

Fast-acting via nasal mask
Effects wear off immediately after removal
Resume normal activities right away
Ideal for mild to moderate anxiety

IV Sedation Dentistry

A much stronger form of sedation dentistry, IV sedation is the perfect option for those with severe levels of anxiety or fear of dental treatments. Much like nitrous oxide sedation, IV sedation is designed to be fast-acting. The main difference is IV sedation is provided intravenously (or directly into your bloodstream.)

In most cases, patients will not remember any of their treatment following IV sedation and will need to have a friend or family member drive them home. Patients should also wait 12 to 24 hours for the effects to completely wear off.

General Anesthesia

Generally reserved for patients in hospitals, general anesthesia is the strongest form of sedation available at Anthem Dentistry. Our team members and dentists are highly trained to provide this particular sedation.

We generally only recommend it for those who have tried other methods of sedation but not received proper relief. During your appointment, your vital signs will be monitored very closely to ensure your safety during every phase of care.
